Update! New Section, and More!

January 26th, 2018

For the year of 2018, TWTY will be endeavouring to be giving a few more updates than has been occurring the past year or so, so it gives me great pleasure to announce a new section for TWTY: Septuagint/LXX Manuscript Transcriptions.

This is a ‘sister’ section to the Ancient Papyrus one (which concentrates on Renewed Covenant manuscripts), and is already a collaborative one, with Dr. Th.A.W. van der Louw of the Protestant Theological University (Netherlands), and SIL International Member, kindly providing a transcription of one of the oldest Septuagint Manuscripts (P. Ryl. 458). With his permission I have turned the transcription into TWTY format, which can be downloaded from here.

Another release is provided by TWTY reader Galen, who has created two Bibleworks Databases that contain the TC Editions of the DSS text! Due to the limitations of the Bibleworks Software, both Greek and Hebrew portions are in separate files. Despite this, it is still readable and searchable, giving greater capabilities for those with the Bibleworks Software.

Give the modules a download from here.

Here’s to more updates like this in the future!

Dead Sea Scrolls – Leviticus Complete

November 17th, 2013

Yup, it’s Dead Sea Scrolls update time! Got another complete collection for everyone today – Leviticus.

This now just leaves two books of the Torah left to complete (Exodus and Deuteronomy), as well as the vast amount of Psalms (both ‘canonical’ and ‘non-canonical’) found at Qumran.

As usual, please find all Downloads available on TWTY on the Downloads Page, and the links to the Leviticus manuscripts are below 🙂

1Q3 PaleoLeviticus-Numbers (1QpaleoLev-Num) | 2Q5 paleoLeviticus (2QpaleoLev) | 4Q17 Exodus-Leviticusf (4QExod-Levf) | 4Q23 Leviticus-Numbersa (4QLev-Numa) | 4Q24 Leviticus b (4QLevb) | 4Q25 Leviticus c (4QLevc) | 4Q26 Leviticusd (4QLevd) | 4Q26a Leviticuse (4QLeve) | 4Q26b Leviticusg (4QLevg) | 6Q2 paleoLeviticus (6QpaleoLev)

4Q119 Septuagint Leviticusa (4QLXXLeva) | 4Q120 Septuagint Leviticusb (4QLXXLevb)

Dead Sea Scrolls: Isaiah Complete & More

July 25th, 2013

Well it’s the usual time again: more Dead Sea Scrolls transcriptions!

TWTY has the final two manuscripts of Isaiah now online, plus the last three manuscripts of Jeremiah as well, bringing the total now to 31 complete books out of 38! (Remember, Esther was nowhere to be seen in the Dead Sea Scrolls – neither a manuscript of the book, nor a quotation of it anywhere in the non-Scriptural writings of the Dead Sea Sect.)

There’s also been a bit of “re-arranging” on TWTY: anything pertaining to the Renewed Covenant now appears on a collective page; anything regarding the Apocrypha or non-Canonical writings are on their own page; and there are two new sections: Septuagint and Tanakh

I’ll let you guess what the last two are in reference to 😉 (Also, there’s nothing yet on them)

1Q Isaiahb (1QIsab) | 4Q57 Isaiahc (4QIsac)

2Q13 Jeremiah (2QJer) | 4Q70 Jeremiaha (4QJera) | 4Q72 Jeremiahc (4QJerc)

Edit: For the above, please refer to the Downloads Page.
