Transcriptions and direct translations of the Pre-Constantinian Greek Papyri of the Renewed Covenant Writings
In the PDFs, on the left hand side shall be the transcription of the Greek words on the Papyrus; on the right hand side shall be a direct word translation, meaning I follow the Greek text nigh-on literally, so it will read a bit oddly when viewing the translation, although you will pick up the meaning quickly.
There is a colour key that is used for the transcription and translation, as the Ancient Papyri aren’t always complete, and have frequent gaps between words, which is also shown in the translation.
Colour Key for the Transcriptions
Black: Extant words and letters, and the translation thereof.
Bold Blue [ ] Brackets: The letters and/or words contained within these brackets aren’t extant on the manuscript, however what would have been there is deduced from the letters surrounding the text, although sometimes the text is subjective.
Green: These are the letters and/or words that appear within the Blue brackets, and so these, as explained above, are deduced words and letters that would’ve been there if the manuscript was 100% complete.
Red: Only used for the verse numbers. Obviously they don’t appear on the manuscript, but they are helpful when wanting to navigate through the transcription.
Purple: These are used for notes in the transcription. They usual indicate a changed reading by the scribe. The changes will be translated and explained in the right hand column.
